Brazil
The world's largest coffee producer, from vast plateaus to small mountain farms
About Brazil
Brazil has been the world's largest coffee producer for more than 150 years, and its coffees are the backbone of blends everywhere. Its growing regions range from large, flat, mechanized farms on high plateaus to small family farms on steep mountainsides picked by hand.
Because most regions have a distinct dry season, Brazil is known for natural and pulped natural coffees, dried with the fruit or mucilage still on the bean. A growing number of farms also produce specialty microlots and experimental fermentations.
Harvest runs from roughly May through September.
