About Guatemala

Guatemala's coffee grows among some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Americas: active volcanoes, high mountain valleys and highland lakes. Rich volcanic soil, steep elevations and distinct microclimates make it one of the most varied coffee origins for its size.

Anacafé, the national coffee association, recognizes eight growing regions. Most coffee is grown under shade by small and medium producers and processed as fully washed coffee at the farm or at a local wet mill.

Harvest generally runs from December through March, later at higher elevations.
