Coffee from the slopes of Kilimanjaro to the southern highlands

About Tanzania

Tanzania's coffee grows on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in the north and across the highlands of the south and west. Most of it is grown by smallholder farmers, often intercropped with bananas and other food crops under shade.

Tanzanian Arabica is usually fully washed. The country is especially known for its peaberries: cherries that develop a single round bean instead of two flat ones, which are sorted out and sold as their own grade.

Harvest typically runs from July through December, depending on the region.
